Big Mouth is a show on Netflix that is about the stages of adolescences and how the main characters have different struggles while growing up. This show made it's self a crowd favorite when it came out because of its humor and the way it relates to us teenagers. As growing teenagers we can't always ask mommy and daddy for help on certain things and left to our own devices to figure them out. As were figuring out who we are in life we go through a series of ups and downs that are being portrayed in a funnier version on the show. To add each of the characters have home issues besides the ones at school, as do many of us. Some of the situations in the show may be a little bit of a stretch from our lives but the main concept is there. Balancing out a social life and a home/school life can be difficult at times. Especially when put in a position to choose between the two sides.

    While talking about Madison and Vine in the last blog we had, I have noticed the product placement of stores such as Victoria's Secret, Panera Bread, and Baskin Robins when the characters take trips to the mall or hangout together outside of school.

    I totally agree with you. I enjoy watching Big Mouth due to the humor, but it also consists of real situations that happen with almost everyone while growing up. Even though this show is a comedy, it shows teenagers that these difficult experiences not only happens to them, and that there is always people there to support you along the way. These deeper meanings and themes behind the humor of the show comes to symbolize self worth and the ability to stay strong and to keep pushing through the ups and downs of teenage life.

madison+vine//happy gilmore

One of my all time favorite movie is Happy Gilmore, with Adam Sandler. The movie is extremely funny and great one to watch on a not so good day. Within the movie the product placement I will be addressing is Subway. As Happy Gilmore (main character) is raising money to save his grandma's house by playing golf he gets sponsored by Subway and is asked to perform a commercial with them. The product placement is clearly visible here because of the ad is inside the movie and the repetition of free subway and shirts with it's logo throughout the movie. We never really realized it because we are so distracted by Happy's silly ways and the common concept that it's a "movie" and most ads that annoy us are shown during tv shows or aren't even shown in movie.
